Architecture styles of USA: Shingle (Coastal)

Shingle characterized by the fact of continuous coating of the roof and walls of wooden shingles. In some homes, the entire facade is decorate with shinle, in other – part of the house is finished with siding. Such houses are characteristic of the US East Coast were it was popular in the years 1880-1900.
Typically, these houses are summer residences of wealthy families from New York, Boston, and similar cities on the Atlantic coast.
Features Shingle Style
The facade and roof are finished with shingles (patterned tiles)
Irregular roof line, in which cuts are frequent skylights
Cross gables
The asymmetrical arrangement of windows
